5. Heartwood in the beech tree
All wooden products
WHAT IS BEECH HEARTWOOD?
Beech wood is one of the most commonly used in our production.
Beech is known for its delicate, light color, but that’s not the only form it comes in.
During its development, beech produces heartwood, which is a darker color core saturated with additional substances that strengthen the wood’s structure.
It is characteristic of older trees, so not every trunk has heartwood.
Usually, our beech material contains 5-25% of heartwood.
Boards produced from heartwood are unique due to the variety of colors ranging from browns to shades of pink:
I RECEIVED A BEECH BOARD WITH HEARTWOOD – I DON’T LIKE THE HEARTWOOD
First of all, if you received a board with heartwood and are concerned that it is defective, remember that heartwood is fully valuable wood with a different color.
However, if you prefer boards without heartwood (light), you must inform us before confirming your order.
We will then be able to make a selection and fulfill your order without heartwood.
I LIKE THE HEARTWOOD – I WOULD LIKE TO PLACE AN ORDER FOR HEARTWOOD BOARDS
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that your entire order will be fulfilled with heartwood.
The content of heartwood in the material we source varies, and we cannot predict how much of it we will receive in a given batch.
