Coating
You can protect the board with kitchen oil, paraffin oil, or wax. All are safe and natural. They make the board more durable and resistant to potential damage. However, remember that regardless of the oil used, wooden boards should not be washed in the dishwasher.
Advantages | Raw, natural appearance, contrasts attractively with engraving. The board can be ordered with a paper banderole and will not leave a greasy trace. |
Disadvantages | Higher liquid absorbency, which may affect the durability of the board. |
Tip | If you opt for a raw board, wipe it with vegetable oil before first use. Repeat this process whenever the board appears to be dried out. |

This is the basic way to protect the boards. It is cheap and readily available, with its special feature being to enhance the color of the board and give it a distinct shine.
